Residents and Visitors
We welcome you to our much loved and cared for church.
Sadly our building is locked due to Covid 19 and we await the day when we can open the doors and welcome everyone back in.
We are in a period of Interregnum i.e. we do not have a vicar. Recent Covid regulations, enforced by the Lichfield Diocese, means that the procedure for advertising and appointing a new vicar is on hold. A Parish Profile has been prepared and we await Lichfield's announcement that things can proceed and we will soon be able to welcome a new vicar. In the meantime, please contact either of the Churchwardens if you require any information.
Publication of the monthly Newsletter has been suspended for the time being but it is hoped this will recommence when the time is right. Any updates will be posted on the Church noticeboard at the Church gates.
There is a booklet on sale in Church that tells about the History of our Church.
Fundraising and Projects
Easter 2012 saw the completion of a major project. In the place of a very ‘tired looking’ vestry we now have a new kitchen, toilet facilities and first floor Meeting Room.
The 3 bells were removed during this rebuild and following a significant project have now been re-installed and augmented to produce a ring of 6 bells. For more information on our project to restore our bells see the Bells Restoration Page
. As part of the second phase of this project, we need to raise funds on a grand scale and our latest venture is a monthly Village Lottery. Other fund raising opportunities include a Gift day, Afternoon Tea, Raffles, Stalls at Car Boot sales etc.
Apart from the Sunday services throughout the year, we have other services that encourage visitors and residents.
Included is a service of Songs of Praise, our Wakes Service held on St Bartholomew’s Feast day which is August Bank Holiday weekend, Harvest celebrations, Carol singing and a Carol Service.
We hope you enjoy your visit to St Bartholomew’s and if you don’t, we want to hear about it! Contact one of the Churchwardens if this is the case. We are always aware of the need to improve our facilities and would welcome any suggestions.
Please sign our visitors book before you leave (if the Church is open!).
2018 Remembrance service
The 2018 Remembrance service marking the centenary of the ending of WW I was recorded and broadcast by BBC Radio Stoke. A recording of the service is available here.
